Amlwch - Welcome
- Croeso!
Amlwch is situated on the North Eastern
corner of Ynys Môn (Anglesey). A small
town, with a long history of working traditions.
The town grew with the development of copper
mining on nearby Mynydd Parys (Parys Mountain),
and was once the world's most productive
Copper Mine.
Amlwch today offers a wealth of interests
to the visitor. Walk along the coast to
Point Lynas or Amlwch Port where copper
was exported all over the world. Explore
the industrial workings of Parys Mountain
itself or visit the Heritage
Centre for a wealth of information on
local history.
For those who want to combine a delve into
the past with other activities, why
not try fishing from the rocks, breakwater,
or from one of the many Charter
boats sailing from Amlwch Port,
or a round of golf?
Or visit the leisure centre and swimming
pool. There is also a local market
on Fridays.
