European Award

Amlwch has been given official status as a place of historic importance in Europe. Mynydd Parys and Porth Amlwch have been given the status of 'Anchor Point' on the European route of Industrial Heritage. Thousands of European visitors could now come to see one of Europe's most important heritage sites. The Amlwch Industrial Heritage Trust are convinced that the area's unique industrial landscape and assets will breathe a new lease of life, through tourism, into Amlwch.
Small businesses in Amlwch will benefit from any development because of the high number of additional visitors the Heritage Trust hope to attract to the town. This award equates Amlwch with the Ironbridge Gorge, The Welsh Slate Museum and Blaenavon.

Copper Mountain

The Anglesey Antiquarian Society first published Copper Mountain in 1966 as the first of a series of Studies in Anglesey History.Copper Mountain by John Rowlands

It is now 21 years since a reprint was published. The total number of books published in these two runs was only 2,500.

There are now two generations looking for information on the past.

With these thoughts the society felt they should reprint this volume as the first of a series of re-issues.
